this is a great video. Thanks for the post. It amazes me how some people make it seem as though Ms. Holliday just sang a few songs and died. . when she actually had a great reportoire(however it is spelled). Ms. billie left a great trail of music and film. . . . research before desert any claim or fact!)

Just beautiful Billie Holiday sang from the heart and spirit She was physically beautiful but also as a person – authentic raw and real. . there will be never be another Billie Holiday. She was a one off.

I would love to live in a world where everyone is wearing a suit or a tuxedo.

Cool orchestration, too. And Dexter Gordon is on tenor.

I agree cdhinton77 I have a great fondness for the styles back then both men and women dressed with more class in general. For example there was a beer garden at a local bar i would frequent and in the winter I would see women wearing skirts and little clothing and freezing. I would never approach a woman who would sacrifice comfort to look “sexy” I think it speaks multitudes about their personality

    she is so beautyful

  • 1cashluv says:

this woman was simply beautiful but it was apparent that video was taken after she started shooting up since she was covering her arms and her eyes were rolling. does anyone see how beautiful her hair and skin are?

Yeah its hard to see the woman Maya Angelou portrayed her as in her book, Heart of a Woman. Lol I had to read that passage again just to make sure she wasn’t someone else.
