Sober Vacation

During the Sober Vacation season, more people drink to excess, and often drive impaired, adding up to a hazardous season. There are more social occasions, and more stress as social and financial obligations and deadlines for shopping mount. The holiday season can seem like a minefield for those in recovery from alcohol or chemical dependence.
Those in primeval recovery might be most at risk for relapse, but Sober Vacation stress can trigger anxiety, depression and even relapse for many. How to survive and even thrive through it all takes a tiny planning. Not all coping strategies are right for everybody. Some people in recovery will need to ditch the family traditions altogether, while others can bring new traditions to supportive family settings.
Are you worried about going to a celebration where there is alcohol served and many guests will be drinking? Non-alcoholic beverages are always available, even if it is water, so you can graciously accept the offer of a drink without alcohol.
If alcohol has “taken the edge off” anxiety in past social situations, and you are in recovery, plan to attend the event with someone who is a good psychological support, often someone in successful recovery. If you know the event will act as a trigger, you don’t have to attend.

Vacation Deals

Let’s grappling it, we all need to get away at sometime or another from all the hustle and bustle and strains of our jobs and each day life to recharge our battery and rejuvenate the mind and spirit. And what superior way to do that then to take a nice long resort pass or cruise to that exotic place you’ve always dreamed of going.
When we come to the conclusion that it’s time to take a break and go on a nice long resting vacation, we begin looking at different travel companies to see where we can get the ideal pass deals. But that in itself can be a job. A long and taxing one at that. With all the travel companies that are out there, it’s hard to find the one that truly offers the ideal pass deals. And the one’s you see advertised all over the TV and on the internet, aren’t the ones that do.
Just because they can afford to run advertisements on t.v.
and broadcasting at a nearly none stop pace, both day and night, doesn’t mean they offer the ideal deals. In fact, the reason they can afford to run these ads, is because they are charging people way too much to book their pass through them. When you book a pass through these travel companies, there is a third celebration fee and these extra fees are not only unnecessary, but there pricey and there a waste of your hard attained money.
Why would you pay more money through these travel companies for the exact same pass that you can get through someone else for so much less?
The next time your looking for the ideal pass deals, I recommend that you begin your search with the travel company that is mentioned in the resource box below.
Happy Vacationing!

Multigenerational Vacations

Family vacations, multigenerational vacations, call it what you will. It seems to be one of the trends in travel that is growing.
We have good friends who rent a home in Lake Tahoe, California apiece summer, and four generations spend a week there. This is a great way for families who live spread apart to see apiece other and have pass too.
I have other friends who take their pass apiece summer to go and visit family… I keep thinking they could plan a multigenerational pass and have the ideal of both worlds, just like that first family I mentioned.
Let me clear one thing up right at the beginning…. We’ve read some articles that state you shouldn’t count grandparents out… that today’s grandparents are active and engaged. That’s an understatement. All the grandparents I know are so active their children would have trouble keeping up with them!
I suppose apiece group is different, but I think a superior sentiment might be that you shouldn’t count GREAT grandparents out….
they also are apt to be active and engaged. I guess the point is, plan for the activity level of your family, and you’ll know how active your parents and grandparents are.
A friends family used to take multigenerational vacations camping! And let me tell you those grandparents and great grand parents really didn’t slow anyone down.
Everyone should have a hand in planning, especially the youngest generation. You need to have them vested in the pass so they won’t keep whining, “I’m bored!”
Of course, you need to be prepared for them to ACT bored sometimes. When we took my nieces on a pass to Ireland, they pretended to be asleep in the back seat when we went looking for dolmens on the Burren. But you know what?
They were pretty chesty when they were in school and their instructor ask if anyone knew what a dolmen was… and they were the only ones who knew…. AND they could state they had seen one. (See… they really weren’t asleep after all. And when we read the reports that they did for school, we were surprised at how much they had learned.)
OK… now that I’ve harped on how active grandparents can be, I’ll admit, having different generations along on a trip can pose some challenges. You have to grant some down time for the slower members of your party, no matter what their age. You also have to have some wild, active time for young children so they can “get the wiggles out”.
On the other side of that… I do have to state that having multiple generations along makes you look at things in a whole different way. It can make travel more interesting, explaining history to the younger generation, or listening to stories from the older generation.
So next time you think you should spend some time with Mother and Father instead of taking a vacation, think about a multigenerational vacation. You might find yourself having the time of all of your lives.
Mexican Vacations

Mexican vacations are one of the ideal vacations you could ever take, regardless of where in Mexico you go. Mexico is a beautiful country filled with a lot of history and there is certainly plenty to see and do with their colonial past and seemingly endless beaches. Mexico is certainly one of the most favourite pass spots in the world. Millions of people each year pass in various spots all over Mexico.
Besides being the capital of Mexico, Mexico City is a very favourite pass destination. With it’s many museums and nearly unbelievable 2,000 acre Chapultepec Park, where Mexico’s largest installation is located along with plenty of entertainment for both the adults and kids, this is just one of the great spots to visit while vacationing in Mexico City. And if your the celebration type, there is no shortage of night clubs in Mexico City. And whatever you do, you have to see the floating gardens which have been around for 7 centuries. The history of the floating gardens is very interesting and educational for all.
Cancun, Mexico is another favourite pass destination, with it’s seemingly endless white sandy beaches and top notch resorts. You can take a short bus ride from the resort that your staying in and hit the flee markets where you can get some good calibre merchandise at some really good prices. Also, if your up for it, you can take a 2 hour bus ride out to the Ruins. That will be an all day trip, but I highly advocate seeing the Ruins. Cancun is truly one of the ideal Mexican vacations that you can take.
Conzumel, Mexico is a fun and exciting place to visit as well. Probably ideal known for it’s diving and snorkeling, there are many other things to do there as well. With all of it’s restaurants, shopping, night life activities and beautiful beaches you won’t have any trouble keeping busy.
These are just a couple of Mexican vacations that are always available. There are many different pass spots all over Mexico and no matter which spot you pick, you will have a great time. Each pass destination in Mexico has many different things to do. No matter what your definition of entertainment is, you’ll find it just about anywhere you go in Mexico.
