Messages About all Around – Asleep at the Wheel of Life [part 2]
Moriya, who looks after various parrots on her rooftop terrace, told me one day that a very massive bag of organic seeds had just been delivered to her front door. When I queried why ‘organic’ seeds for the birds, she replied in her usual matter-of-fact way that she would not separate herself from the parrots – and her two rabbits.
If she eats strictly organic food and only vegetables and fruit, because it is the healthier alternative, how could she feed anything she would not want for herself to the birds and animals in her care?
Ah, but wait! There’s more.
Besides the fact that they are grown organically, the corn cobs that Moriya purchases are still attached to their husks, which the two pet rabbits, Bonnie and Dolly along with the birds, enjoy very much.
Because these husks are free of pesticide, Moriya always finds “in apiece stalk a huge green worm sleeping at the edge, so I cut the edge and I think that it’s that worm’s clean share of the corn. For without her no corn would have grown, ken? You do know that worms are essential to the soil.”
And so Moriya puts the green worm out in a verandah pot along with its tiny piece of husk or lettuce and there it will live out its days in peace – provided a bird doesn’t pick it too soon as a tasty treat.

Back to the business of our dreams.
“C.C., to make my point clearer, let’s look at another example: the traditional interpretation of a lion in our dreams.
Books usually state that the lion stands for great strength, aggression and physical power which is interpreted as overcoming our emotions as well as our challenges. This interpretation exists simply because, in the modern world, the lion is seen as the king of the jungle. Centuries back, the lion also represented royalty, leadership, pride and dominance.
“When a lion comes to me in a dream, for me it won’t mean that I’m about to take over a situation and impose my will on another being.
It won’t mean that I have to exercise restraint in my own individualized and social life.
What it will mean is a reminder for me to not regress into indulging any of my lower desires, the ones triggered by the base and the sacral chakras.
Look, here is a how a lion came to me in a dream:
I am travel alongside a woman through a very huge hall. We arrive at the top floor where a lion is asleep in the hallway. I state to the woman: “What will happen when the lion awakes? Ze lo beseder that a lion should be lying like this in the middle of the hallway.”
Inside the massive hall that we finally reach, there are many people. Suddenly the lion rushes down the stairs, jumps toward the entrance and starts to struggle
with another lion. Then, the lion returns and approaches me. I just sense that I have powers to block him. So I point a finger at the lion and state forcefully: “Lo! No!”
The lion retreats but returns again. I extend a finger and again, while looking directly into his eyes, I say: “Lo! Lo! No!”
The lion retreats one more time. Then, suddenly again, he jumps towards me, but stops at my feet and lies down. As I look down, all that there is at my feet is a huge white dog with very long hair.
So I look at this dog in wonderment until his minder comes out of somewhere and stands by me. This man holds a strap that he ties to the dog’s neck.
He smiles at me and takes the dog with him. While they achievement away I see that the dog has become once again a lion.
And now, CC, let’s look at the interpretation of the various symbols present in that dream:
Lion = animalism – lower desires from our base chakra and fed by our ego-persona
Big hall = our ego-persona/ourselves. The more we are developed, the greater is this symbolic hall
A lot of people = our reflected inner being. They symbolize the various *I*s that we are inside our appearance and, for sure, they are numerous. If we see people doing their tasks without conflicts, this stands for our inner harmony. When we can master all our various tiny egos and keep them on a leash, they are under control and ze beseder gamoor.
Dog = unconditional love, faith
White = enlightenment
“C.C., it can be added that the lion’s minder stands for my capability to control my lower desires and my capability to turn them into positive ones – from lion to dog.
In short, this dream has nothing to do with power and dominance or about being a violent carnivore, but what it tells me is that when I control my ego- persona, I tame
‘the creature within’, as the expression goes.
These lowly materialistic urges vanish and I remain enlightened.
The lion that changes into a dog and then changes back, is the reminder that these aspects of ourselves always exist, no matter what. They are always lurking. It is good to remember that they can, and do, take over in turns, depending on how we feed – or starve – them in our day-to-day dealings with others and ourselves.”
** Ze lo beseder = it’s not right Lo = no Ze beseder gamoor = this is very good
Moriya explains – While the lion is awake, We Slumber
This year, to celebrate the Chinese year of the Rat with friends, one of whom is a Chinese Malay, we went to a restaurant in our local China town. I am not sure how much money the owners of the Enjoy Inn had donated to the Chinese Lion Association of Brisbane, but I am ready to bet that apiece Chinese diversion lion in Brisbane dropped in for a prance around the tables.
The noise of many drums reverberating through the restaurant was deafening.
I gave Moriya an statement of the lions’ leaps and dances around our plateau and explained how their ears, eyelids and tails are manipulated by the dancers
inside the lion cloth-frame and here is her deconstruction of that moment:
Restaurant = where you take what others prepare for you and your friends, i.e. messages, tests, experiences. In restaurant, we have to pay for our food, which stands for having to pay close attention to messages around you; otherwise a price will be have to be paid for ignoring them
The noise of many drums = it is meant for you to be aware and awake!
Dancing lions = flowing. “The lion, as Leo, is your sign, C.C.,” Moriay said, “But generally a diversion stands for the natural movement of life: wind, waves, energy. All in Nature is a continuous dance, like Tai Chi”
They move their eyelids = the need to observe, be aware
Their ears, too = listen to messages. Don’t be hypnotized by your ego-persona or anyone else’s
Manipulated by the dancers inside the lion = ego-personas pretending to be lions
“Why would people pretend to hide behind the mask of a lion?” I asked.
“Because the lion stands for our lower desires. Having a leaping lion’s head in the background of your dinner gathering, C.C., is a good reminder for you, Myarh, and
all who were present to be mindful of the erratic nature of your lower mechanical impulses. Anyway, no creature is ever one-sided. They are all two-sided, exactly like our soul IS us, just as we are her incarnation – the ego-persona in the body she has in this lifetime.
“C.C., while on the topic of impulses and thoughts of a lower order, do you know that irritating flies and mosquitoes are but symbols of what annoys you and of the emotions that take you from the inside? Once you become aware of this and keep perceptive yourself, you will refer your thoughts and you will comprehend how these thoughts bite you worse than any mosquito can ever do. Once you comprehend this deep, deep down, you won’t have to deal with flies or mosquitoes anymore. They will simply fly off to bother someone else.”
Most gardens, here, in Brisbane, harbour colonies of midges, commonly known as sandflies. They come out in the afternoons and even though the flies themselves are pinprick tiny, their bites swell up, itch and linger for days, because I have an allergic reaction to them. Yesterday, a midge bit me on the toe while I was padding around barefoot on the patio. Wearing shut shoes today, a school day, was an irritating experience to state the least. Tomorrow won’t be any better.
If there is a lone mosquito anywhere, no matter how many people are present, it will always find me. Myarh jokes that when I am around, she doesn’t need to apply any insect repellent. Though I am glad to be of help, I can’t move to test out Moriya’s theory that once I can truly be in the moment and refer the pesky thought patterns that make me react mechanically, I will no longer be picked as a preferred landing pad by these diminutive blood suckers because I will have understood the lesson and moved beyond.
“Having stated that, there are of course places like swamps and marshes that attract mosquitoes. But, ahoti, as like attracts like and as Karma does its work perfectly, there’s not a chance for someone to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.
** Ahoti = my sister
Of course, the ego will ask: what would happen if … but in reality there are no ifs. Ifs are never real. They are only fears we create in our mind. Some people get a clearer message from animals and insects than from people, so that’s their fate to be bitten until they realize the symbolism of that and act on it.
“Look how symbolic it is that the flies and mosquitoes cause maladies like malaria and Ross River fever in your country. People start into a state of deep sleep and hallucinations. So, this malady reflects the state of ‘consciousness’ of these people, showing how sleepily they are in their lives, like the saying that states ‘asleep at the wheel’ and if they won’t do something when they awake from that bout of illness, their soul will attract another event to them, a worse one again.
Ma la-asot, ahoti? Ze ma yesh!
“You see, it is all kish-kush-bala-bush to interpret dreams as horoscopes do in the newspapers or on the net. Our soul never thinks in such basic linear ways. She is love, and faith, and truth and when she sends you an image of a lion, she simply wants you to see your potential to become a queen or a king, which stands for the soul.
You can select to aim for that by understanding the symbolism and by obeying the call or maybe you can lose your focus and revert to obeying your animalistic ego-persona, the one that just wants to be indulged and satisfied and entertained like a child, while being spiritually asleep – at your own risk.
Your mistake is to think that you need to SEARCH and find a symbol here and a symbol there, like a forensic scientist looks for clues. If you want to see the true meaning of symbols, you need to climb on top of a mountain and notice from high above – a bird’s view.
** Ma la-asot, ahoti? Ze ma yesh! = what can I say, my sister? This is how it is. kish-kush-bala-bush = load of rubbish
“C.C., the symbols are all around. They are bobbing around like tiny corks, just inactivity for you to look and SEE them. OK, for now, if a mountain top is too high a climb, you can at least try standing on a ladder, yes?” Moriya chides again. Then, cryptically, she adds, “No need to search far for interpretations because you need only to look into the mirror and see everything reflected back at you.
“Messages are reminders like tiny flags. Minute after minute, moment after moment, they come in swift succession. Symbols, messengers, messages – the
show is right before your eyes. It is a live performance and it is very interesting, never boring. And if you should forget to notice and start asleep in the middle of the show, a fresh messenger will come to awake you with a blow on the head. And see, you don’t even need tickets for this long, long show. It is set up just for you and it is all free.”
v
One day, Moriya told me about another of her dreams:
“I had such a strange but beautiful dream and I will tell you about it.
I was preparing a sandwich prefabricated out of a magazine. I took out all the staples, as there were a lot of them holding the pages together. Finally the color pages were ready so I pasted honey on them. Then, I folded the entrepot in two and offered it to the people who were nearby and everyone enjoyed intake it very much.
You see, when I awoke I remembered the prophet Ezekiel [Ezekiel 3:3] to whom God gave a scroll to eat. “Then I ate it; and it was in my mouth as sweet as honey,” he said.
“All I can say,” Moriya added, “is that I hope my teachings are as sweet as honey for those who would like to be awakened from their slumber to acquire self-realization. But nothing can change for anyone who can't open their heart to give unconditional heart-chakra LOVE.”
When I replied, “Yes, OK, but making a sandwich out of a entrepot is a weird dream,” Moriya was swift to reply, “Lama, weird? Look around and see how often people ‘swallow’ words from newspapers, magazines, books, TV, movies, broadcasting and also from apiece other’s mouths, huh? At least I had honey inside my word sandwich.”
**Lama = why?

Admittedly, I have an ulterior motive – quite a strong one at that: I am trying to edit some karma out of my energy field by altering its properties.
This, from me, who a couple of years ago thought about my soul as often as the molecular composition of my body, which was never.
Dear Reader, should you wish to read the original and fully illustrated pdf versions of all the articles based on Moriya’s Teachings, you will find them contextualized on C.C. on Destiny – the only page on the ‘net dedicated to her uncompromising approach to genuine spirituality.

National Flowers from Around the World
Copyright (c) 2010 Nadine Davis
Numerous countries around the world have adopted a specific flower that they feel is the ideal representation of the country. Some countries have endorsed these national symbols officially either through decree of governing bodies or informal public polls while others have done so unofficially. Many countries selected their national flower based on religious roots or cultural provenance. These flowers often symbolize the geographical area in which the country is located. A country’s national flower, referred to in Australia as the floral emblem, serves as the country’s national indistinguishability and is often a symbol of patriotism. Floral emblems might be country wide or subdivisions within a country might have their own distinct emblem. For example, apiece territory within Australia has its own one-of-a-kind floral emblem that represents the specific territory. Your local Florist Brisbane will have some intent of local floral emblems.
National Flowers Around the World:
Since the primeval 1900’s, many in Australia have considered the Acacia pycnantha or the Golden Wattle to be the country’s floral emblem. In 1988, the governor of Australia signed a proclamation stating the official acceptance of the Golden Wattle as Australia’s floral emblem. The Golden Wattle is a small tree or shrub that develops sweetly scented golden-yellow flowers in the spring. It is a very favourite garden plan and easily propagated from seed.
There have been plenty of countries around the world who have accepted flowers and prefabricated them their national flowers or floral emblems or say flowers. Each of the four countries that comprise the United Kingdom has its own national flower. The national flower of England is the Tudor Rose, Cambria claims the narcissus and the leek, Northern Ireland is represented by the shamrock, and Scotland selected the thistle. Canada is represented by the maple leaf, while the United States’ national flower is the rose. Even though they don’t have an official floral emblem, China and Nihon both have an unofficial national flower in the plum blossom, and chrysanthemum or cherry blossom respectively.
Give the Gift of Floral Emblems:
Flowers Brisbane can have a number of significant meanings for both the patron and the recipient. Flowers can be used as a symbol of an individuals patriotism or devotion to their birth country or more commonly as an expression of love, friendship or sadness such as funeral flowers. A florist can be of assistance those wishing to buy either their floral emblem or a easy bouquet of flowers. The Haunted Hotels From Around the World for Your Halloween Night
Boo!! ‘Tis the season once more, when everything scary, silly and strange becomes really cool (and we’re not speaking about the American presidential election). Happy Halloween everyone!! October 31 is fast approaching and the gross and ghoulish will be out and about, looking for candy and trying to scare the bejeezes out of you. Seeing it’s about that time, to relate tales from the crypt, who are we to not pander to the masses and give our very own chilling list of haunted hotels from around the world.
During our extensive research we were surprised to find that Europe and North USA seem to have an inordinate amount of spirits who just don’t want to leave their former residences (though we’re thinking with the current economic downturn, many might change their minds and finally move on). Even so, there are places to stay around the world where spooks and specters float in the night…. Here is our top 13!
The Nottingham Road Hotel (South Africa)
What’s the ideal way to keep good staff? Don’t let them leave. This hotel in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa has a barmaid who apparently decided the tips were just too good. The barmaid’s spirit has been known to move pots around the pub, open beer taps, ring a service bell (which was supposedly no longer in working order) and has even been attributed to deflating tires of certain guests. They were poor tippers of course.
Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel (USA)
There are so many haunted hotels in the United States, it was tough to pick just a few. We picked this one because it’s just so cool. The Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel in Hollywood, California is supposedly home to the ghosts or Marilyn Monroe and Montgomery Clift. Marilyn is stated to haunt a full length mirror that was once in a room she was known to frequent. Guests have reported catching glimpses of the blonde bombshell in the mirror as they pass. Clift stayed in room 928 while filming From Here to Eternity and guests have reported being healthy to hear him pacing and rehearsing his lines.
Buma Inn (China)
The Chinese take their spirits seriously, and this one at the Buma Inn in Beijing seriously wants revenge. Apparently a guest at the Inn was poisoned by the chef and subsequently died. The chef was so upset about it, that he then killed himself afterwards. The murdered guest is stated to be seen roaming the halls forever in search of the chef, looking to inflict his revenge.
Breakfast Creek Inn (Australia)
According to the Brisbane Visitor’s Guide this Brisbane hotel is apparently known to nearly the entire population of Australia. If that wasn’t weird enough, it’s apparently haunted as well. It was built in 1889 by William Galloway, the former Lord Mayor of Brisbane. One night, apparently drunk, he fell from a second floor window to his death in 1895. Having undergone many renovations since then, his ghost is stated to have been seen and heard wandering the older, original portions of the hotel.
Toftaholm Herrgard (Sweden)
Once home to a baron this hotel in Toftaholm, Sweden is haunted by a young boy. The boy, a commoner, fell in love with the baron’s daughter. The baron disapproved and arranged for his daughter to be married to someone else. On the day of the wedding, the boy hung himself in the rafters. His spirit is stated to haunt room 324 where the rafters once were.
Genting Highlands Resort (Malaysia)
Located just north of Kuala Lumpur, this favourite resort and casino has apparently seen its clean share of suicides by those distraught after incurring gambling debts at the tables. Various visitors have related stories of seeing a man jump from the top of the hotel only to vanish before hitting the ground. It’s also stated there are rooms in the hotel that are not acquirable to stay in no matter what the occupancy level of the hotel because of the strong presence of otherworldly spirits.
Ballygally Castle Hotel (Ireland)
It’s a castle, therefore it must be haunted. The Ballygally Castle Hotel is haunted by Lady Isabella Shaw, who was imprisoned here in the 17th century for the horrible crime of giving birth to a daughter instead of a boy. So distraught, she apparently jumped to her death clutching her daughter. Her ghost is stated to be heard wandering the halls, knocking on doors…while holding her crying baby. Creeeeepy.
Dragsholm Slot – Hotel (Denmark)
Another castle (go figure), this one located in Sealand, Denmark is home to three ghosts; the Gray Lady, White Lady and the peer of Bothwell. The Gray Lady is apparently a maiden who was so devoted to the castle she returns nightly to check on the grounds. The peer of Brothwell was captured here in the 1500’s and imprisoned in the cellar where he subsequently went angry and died, now forever to wander the halls. The White Lady is a daughter of one of the former owners who fell in love with a commoner. Her dad found out about the illicit affair and imprisoned her in the castle. During renovations in the 1930’s a skeleton in a white dress was found behind one of the walls lending credence to the tale.
The Stanley Hotel (USA)
We like creepy movies, and Stanley Kubrick’s “The Shining” is as creepy as they come. Based on the Stephen King novel, King himself based the Overlook Hotel in his book on The Stanley Hotel in Park Estes, Colorado. The Stanley is stated to be haunted by its original owner F.O. Stanley and his wife Flora. Stanley’s ghost has been seen wandering the lobby, bar and Billiard Room while Flora continues to play the piano in the Music Room. Guests have reportedly heard music coming from the room. When they open the door the keys are seen moving on the piano as well, but as soon as they go closer to investigate, the music stops.
The Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel (Canada)
Set in picturesque Banff, Alberta the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel is stated to be haunted by a ghost bride. Legend has it that a bride was travel down the grand staircase to the lobby for her wedding reception. The “train” on her gown apparently brushed against one of the numerous candles used to light the lobby and caught fire. In her panic, she apparently tripped and fell down the stairs, breaking her neck. Her ghost has been seen wandering the halls still in her dress. Just more proof that eloping is the ideal choice.
The Savoy Hotel (India)
Famous as the inspiration for Agatha Christie’s first novel The Mysterious Affair at Styles, the Savoy Hotel in Mussoorie, India is apparently haunted by its former owner, Lady Orme. Murdered by sipping on some strychnine mysteriously put in her medicine bottle, Ms. Orme’s murderer was never found. Her ghost has reportedly been seen aimlessly travel the halls of her old hotel.
The Langham Hilton Hotel (England)
An iconic hotel in the middle of London, the Langham is reputedly one of the most haunted hotels in the world, with as many as 7 different ghosts seen from time to time. Some of the ghosts are dressed in Victorian clothing, one of the ghosts is stated to be that of a German soldier, another is stated to be the ghost of physician who murdered his wife and then killed himself, and the Emperor Louis Napolean III is stated to haunt the basement. Room 333 is supposed to be the most haunted of all, in which a BBC reporter watched a specter appear from a floating, glowing ball, right in front of his eyes.
The Queen Mary (USA)
It’s a boat, a hotel and it’s haunted. How cool is that! The former luxury liner was larger and faster than the Titanic in her day and was used to transport troops in World War II. Now permanently docked in Long Beach, California and converted to a floating hotel, the Queen Mary is reportedly home to various different ghosts. The boat has been the site of 49 deaths, so there could be a few ghosts to select from. There is the man crushed behind Door 13 of the engine room, now seen roaming the halls only to disappear behind the very same door that killed him, there are the women in 30’s style washing suits seen sitting around the first class pool (though the pool has been shut for decades) and there’s the tiny girl who drowned in the second class poolroom, often seen (and heard) in the area while clutching a teddy bear. There is apparently more, but we’re just too freaked out to continue speaking about it.
