Located in the Southern regions of Portugal the Algarve is an increasingly favourite tourist destination for all sorts of travellers. For tourists looking for good nightlife there are a number of calibre bars, restaurants and clubs throughout the region with the city of Albufeira boasting some of the most vibrant nightlife around.

Travel Insurance and Packing Tips

Many people interested in travel insurance want to know what they can do to make sure they don’t forget anything on their next trip. They also want to know how to get great medical coverage while overseas, in case anything should happen. While holiday travel insurance is obviously the ideal way to protect yourself against any problems that might arise, but here are some more tips for making your trip the ideal it can be.

• Pack light. When you pack, keep in mind that you need to be healthy to travel lightly and efficiently. This means that you should only bring a minimum number of items, and limit all toiletries to small travel-sized containers. Packing smart also reduces your chances of having to turn in an Australian travel insurance claim, as fewer items brought mean fewer opportunities to lose your possessions or have them stolen.

• Bring a good guidebook. The purpose of a guidebook is to give you swift and simple access to everything you need to know about a given region. Before you leave Australia, pick up a handbook that contains information on local restaurants, customs, and accommodations. Traveling is much safer when you are educated about the area you’re going to, and already know what to expect.

• Don’t over-plan. Many overeager tourists believe that to travel in Australia or other areas of the globe, you need to plan loads of activities to keep you busy and entertained. This is a surefire way to burn yourself out and make you wish you had just stayed home. It’s a good intent to have a few activities in mind that you want to do, and then grant yourself some relaxing time in between.

• Stick to a budget. It is simple to get caught up in the excitement of a trip, especially if you have already saved money by getting your travel insurance online. But, as any traveler knows, tourist destinations are notorious for siphoning extra money out of their visitors. Even though you are on holiday, don’t get carried a way. Figure out beforehand how much money you can afford to spend on the trip, and then stick to that number.

These tips, along with a good travel insurance plan, are the ideal defense you have against having your holiday ruined by unforeseen events. Pack light and plan your time wisely while on vacation, and you’re sure to have an astonishing time.

You might think that with all the travel we do, we would have no travel trepidation. I can see where you might be justified to adopt that, but you’d be wrong. We just got back from a wonderful trip that makes for a good example.

We had some pass time in November… but at that time of year, weather has to play a role in where you’re going to go. We talked about going wine tasting in South USA or maybe going to Tunisia in North Africa… but we settled on Israel.

Or should I say, my hubby really wanted to go to Israel. I slowly let myself be talked into the trip, but I have to tell you, I had more than a tiny travel trepidation about the goings on in the Middle East.

Counties that routinely end up in the news with stories about violence tend to set many travelers on edge, and you have to admit, Israel has had it’s share of unrest. I was so ambivalent about this trip, that I didn’t do much of the planning at all…

actually I didn’t do any!

When you begin telling friends about a destination like this, you’re apt to get a lot of negative feedback. We got that when we went to Jordan and later when we went to Dubai and Oman, but we didn’t let that stop us. We definitely got some negative feedback when we started telling people we were going to Israel… things like, “Aren’t you scared going there?” …or… “Keep your head down.”

We both kept saying that things had been pretty quiet recently, and that if anything flared up, we’d just go to Pismo Beach, California! But nothing flared up, and there we were on the plane.

We practiced what we preach. We stayed in a local hotel… not a huge study glitzy one that could be a target. We left all of our jewelry at home. We dressed conservatively so as not to offend anyone, and we tried not to stand out.

Just like we’ve found on most trips that make you stretch a little, my travel trepidations were pretty much unfounded on this trip. We arrived in Jerusalem without any reservations. The Israeli Tourist Information desk in the airfield was healthy to get us reservations at a nice tiny local hotel about a five minute achievement from the Yafo Gate to the Old City.

People had warned us about travel in the Old City at night. But it gets dark primeval in November, so once we got to our hotel, what did we do but achievement into the old city to find a great tiny Armenian Tavern for dinner.

The whole time we were there, we walked in the Old City at night and had no problems. There was all the usual hub-bub in the bazaars, but the “step-into-my-shop”, “you’re-my-lucky-customer” merchants were polite and friendly when we stated no.

We took the local blue bus 21 to Bethlehem and had lots of help from locals once we got there. When we looked lost catching city buses in Jerusalem, we also had help.

Each day that went by with more fantastic experiences, I felt sillier and sillier about the travel trepidation I had had. The point is, if you have travel trepidations, but you really want to go someplace, do your research.

If it’s really unsafe, stay away…

but most places are innocuous to travel to, even places that are often in the news. Face down your fears. Once you’re there, you’ll be glad you did!

Travel Insurance, the word itself seems to be a night mare, but down the lane it is like a blessed support all together. Generally speaking, we all believe that there is no need of travel insurance just for a holiday. The existing Health policy is all one needs. If one computes what all expenses are included in a trip:

Means of travel/ Conveyance
Travel/ Trip Lodge
Tour Stay
Tickets
Buying of clothing and other goods
Expenses on Meals

All these are the basic expenses we do while going on a trip, but what if trip has to be cancelled due to any unavoidable reason like Illness, death or accident, the money spent on the afore mentioned areas would go waste and we would not even get a chance to get it refunded. But the scenario would be completely different if you be a chesty owner of any of the acquirable Travel Insurance as these insurance contracts assure of reimbursing the expenses prefabricated in the event of trip cancellation.

One always picks the ideal Tour Stay for them as to make it comfortable and memorable in turn it looks for the ideal Travel Lodge and get the same booked, thus to secure the heavy expenses prefabricated over it, one must go for these plans as they not only cover the cancellation but there are several areas which a Good Travel Insurance covers in order to wage its members the ideal of service and satisfaction. When one takes in a Travel Insurance Plan, they can very well tighten their seat belts and rest a now the custody of their health, expenses and goods lies in the hands of these Insurance companies and more over along with immediate aid and services the refund of losses that might occur.

If this is what a Travel Insurance could wage then why not to do a tiny surfing and get the ideal deal for oneself, while surfing the net one might have the privilege to compare the various plans and pick the best, reasonable and most sufficient plans for themselves. Just have to read the procedures and terms carefully before finalizing o refrain any misguidance or confusion. In this way you can make your own plan i.e. place in your stipulations and the solution would be there at just one click. In turn giving a tension free journey and a Peace of mind.

We’ve discussed health and travel before, but if you’re going to travel healthy, there are some things we can add…. and there are some things that bear repeating!

We’ve stated that you should be healthy when you leave on your trip. A last minute cold aside, you don’t want to be climbing on a plane if you have the flu or some serious illness. That seems obvious, but people do it all the time. Not only will you be miserable, but you might be infecting others on the plane with you.

Most people can leave on a trip without consulting their doctor, but for some itineraries, it’s wise to get a check-up. If you’re planning a trip to an exotic location, meet with your regular physician or your travel medicine doctor.

Find out if you need any vaccinations or medications for your trip. They can probably give you a prescription for a broad spectrum bactericide and give you instructions on how to take it in case you get diarrhea and need it.

If you have some health issues, like a heart condition or something that limits you, discuss with your physician the proper care you should take for those conditions to keep your travel healthy.

Make sure your teeth are in good shape too.

If you’ve had some tiny pains in a tooth, go get it checked out. My spouse had resisted getting a wisdom tooth extracted for years. It had broken, but didn’t bother her. She started having “twinges” on that side of his mouth, but she was sure it was further forward. I told him it was probably that tooth, and it would probably blow up on him when he was on the plane! Turns out the tooth had decayed since his last checkup… she got the tooth extracted (no problems!), and we had a great trip.

Be sensible about what you take and drink on your travels. Eat what you like, but if things look unhygienic, you might want to take a pass. If food looks like it’s been sitting out for the flies for a few hours, you wouldn’t want to take it anyway.

Try to take nutritiously. If you have a dietary restriction, try to learn how to state it in the local language (or get it written down). And let the restaurants know… ask if they can help you if you need to refrain something for health reasons.

If you have serious food allergies, like allergies to shellfish or peanuts, you should carry an EpiPen or its equivalent. Of course you’ll try to refrain the culprit, but in a foreign country, you might not get your point across, so it’s superior to be prepared. A precaution like this not only keeps your travel healthy… it could keep you alive!

Drink bottled water in places where the water isn’t safe. It is usually pretty simple to tell where that is. Drink tea or coffee prefabricated with boiled water, or drink bottled or canned soft drinks, beer or wine.

You have to watch your own hygiene as well as the water and the food. Make sure your hands are clean. Wash them before eating… or use those hand sanitizers that are acquirable now. They come in small packets that you can take in your carry on luggage.

Get in shape for your trip so you’ll feel good about all that travel and all those stairs. Try to get plenty of exercise when you’re on your trip. And get plenty of sleep.

Sure you want to run around and not miss anything, but if you’re going to travel healthy, you need to rest… that way you will be healthy to keep going, and you will see it all.

All the details of the honeymoon require one’s attention just as the wedding celebration does. Here are some tips to think about for a perfect honeymoon travel regardless of whether you travel by plane, boat, train or car.

Make reservations in advance and book tickets at hotels in case you make halts on the way to the destination. If you know how to make good planning you’ll benefit from great rebates; airlines usually sell all classes of seats at the most convenient of prices, but as you get closer to the departure date, only the business class seats remain available.

Moreover, travel agencies have special packages for honeymooners, with various options included. Hence, when you approach an bureau for offers and quotes make sure you specify that you are looking for a honeymoon travel solution. Some select the all inclusive variant and leave it to the bureau to deal with everything from then flight details to the lodging, but other couples like to get involved actively in the planning.

Smart packing is another honeymoon travel tip some people change to follow particularly when going to areas with warmer climates.

This is not about taking sweaters and jackets when going to Hawaii, but rather about choosing to have some extra apparel items acquirable for all sorts of occasions, as you might feel the need to wear something other than slippers and t-shirts. Make sure to include some extra bottles of water, a few snacks and all the essentials in the luggage too. By essentials I mean a list of emergency phone numbers, credit cards, cash and passports.

There are some very individualized items that make honeymoon travel all the more rewarding . Thus, you can pack a CD with very meaningful love songs, eventually music from the wedding reception or some special rhythms to enjoy in a romantic setting.

Then, keep in mind that hotels wage all sorts of services on request, therefore, if you want to pamper yourself, the honeymoon could be the right time to start.

Feel the authenticity of the place to really make the ideal of your honeymoon travel: try new drinks, food and music, local customs, communicate with the local inhabitants, see relevant local sites and points of attractions. Keep bad moods away even if trifles might threaten to ruin the atmosphere.

Traveling can be a humbling experience, particularly when you travel to a foreign country. Such experiences, of course, give rise to travel jokes.

Travel Jokes

1. Three brothers are sitting at the bar in a Moscow establishment. An older man is sitting at a plateau behind them and has obviously had too much vodka. He stands, walks up to the first brother and says,

“Your mom is a vicious, greedy woman!”

The brother tells him to shut up and go sit down.

After about 5 minutes, the old man stands and walks up to the second brother,

“I sleep with your mom whenever I want!”

Disgusted, the brother tells the old man to bugger off.

A few minutes later, the old man stands and starts travel towards the third brother. All three brothers turn around and yell,

“Dad, go home!”

2. You’re at a bad hotel when the bed mint moves.

3.

“Visi, Vermini, Vomnui” – I visited, I freaked, I threw up.

4. The President’s Vacation

George and Laura Bush take a pass to Crawford and decide to go the grocery store. In the checkout line, Laura recognizes the man working at the register as an old high school boyfriend. After chatting, they leave the store and George says,

“Wow, envision if you had married him. You’d be married to a grocery store clerk now instead of the President of the United States.”

Laura rolls her eyes and says, “No. I’d be married to the President of the United States.”

5. “Veni, Veneri, Vamoosi” – I came, I caught a disease, I ran away.”

Typically, just the act of traveling produces more than a few funny moments.

Traveling Asia is something that everyone should experience at least once in their lifetime. When you travel to Asia, there are so many things to see and do; make sure that you plan your trip in advance. However, remember to leave some free time in you itinerary, because when you travel Asia, you want to make sure that you have the flexibility for an occasional adventure.

As the largest continent on earth, Asia offers travelers a large variety of places to visit, things to do and, cultures to see. For first time visitors who travel Asia, we advocate the following:

Island Nations-

Indonesia:

One of the most diverse destinations for travelers to Asia, the Indonesian archipelago can wage enough exciting destinations for a complete trip. Whether you are seeking relaxation, natural beauty, cultural diversity or all of the above, Indonesia will show you an exciting and wonderful Asian travel destination.

Philippines:

Comprised of over 7000 islands, the Philippines has become on of Asia’s forgotten travel destinations.

Due to a current history that includes martial law and economic corruption, the Philippines has lost much of its previous tourist activity to its more stable neighbors. Those who do visit will enjoy beautiful spots like the Boracay beaches and Lake Sebu.

Japan:

For decades, the island nation of Nihon has been a favorite destination for travelers to Asia. From astonishing Zen temples to kitschy reproductions of western monuments like the Eiffel Tower, Nihon has something for each traveler who visits. The hardest thing is fitting it all in.

Southeast Asia

Thailand:

The Kingdom of Thailand is the most favourite tourist destination in Southeast Asia drawing more visitors than its neighbors. With both mountainous regions and a beautiful coastline dotted with astonishing islands Thailand is one a must see for those who travel to Asia. The city of Bangkok, the largest in Thailand is one of the most favourite in all of Asia, as well.

Vietnam:

A swiftly emerging destination among travelers to Asia, Vietnam is reshaping its image among world travel destinations. From the beaches along the coast, to its soaring inland mountains, Vietnam offers travelers to Asia with a sublime experience.

Mainland Asia-

China:

Too vast for words alone, China is rapidly emerging as the top destination for travelers to Asia. As China continues to modernize both economically and socially, it is becoming easier for those who travel to Asia to visit one of the largest and most populous countries in the world. If you travel to China, follow a loose itinerary and try to see as much as you can.

Korea:

South Korea is one of the most westernized of all Asian nations. Travelers to Korea can enjoy the modernity of the capital city, Seoul; or they can try visiting beautiful natural wonders like Songnisan National Park.

India:

Another of Asia’s largest and most heavily populated countries, India is a complex and diverse nation unlike any other you will experience when you travel throughout Asia. Visitors to India will be enchanted by its unpredictability and surprising cultural dramas that exist among its inhabitants.

Discount or budget travel involves a good deal of groundwork, planning and collating relevant information. Some of the ideal ways to get that great air deal are searching the World wide web and visiting airline agencies. Airline companies that have just entered the industry offer a great deal of promotional fares. However, it is advisable to check different promotional offers and find the cheapest, instead of settling for the first that you chance upon.

Frequent flier miles, student fares and senior citizen discounts are other options. Discount travelers should keep a flexible travel schedule. If the promo of an airline says that they only give discounts on a certain day of the week, departure dates should coincide with the same. Monday is usually the busiest day of the week in the airline industry; Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Saturdays are the days that have fewer reservations, so tickets are sold cheap on these days.

Some airlines offer travel packages such as automobile rental or hotel room discounts along with the air ticket.

Another option is approaching consolidators or discount travel agents who purchase blocks of tickets and sell them at reduced prices.
